Settle in and feel the anticipation build for the evening ahead – your first opportunity for aurora viewing! Dinner is available at Latitude 65 for a more upscale experience, or you can grab more casual fare at The Pub.
As the night deepens, prepare for your first Aurora Portrait Session! At 11:00 PM, our photographer will meet you at your igloo, ready to capture the magic of the Northern Lights should they grace the sky. Imagine having professional photos of yourself with the breathtaking aurora as your backdrop – a truly unique souvenir of your Alaska adventure.
And the best part is that, at the end of the day, you get to return to your cozy igloo and take in the Northern Lights as you climb into bed and decompress from your busy day.
Day 2: Wildlife Encounters and Backcountry Exploration
Today is dedicated to connecting with Alaska's incredible wildlife and exploring the peaceful backcountry. Your morning begins with a heartwarming Walk with Reindeer experience. Get up close and personal with these gentle creatures, learn about their fascinating adaptations, and enjoy a unique opportunity to interact with them in their natural environment.
Next, you'll embark on an exhilarating yet leisurely 1-hour Alaska Sled Dog experience. Meet real Alaskan racing sled dogs, learn about the rich history of mushing, and feel the thrill of a 30-minute “dog karting” tour through the beautiful Borealis Forest. All necessary gear is provided at our Adventure Center, ensuring your comfort and safety.
After a satisfying lunch, the afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. Grab a trail map from our guide staff and wander along the well-maintained trails surrounding Borealis Basecamp. For a bit more adventure, check out our fat tire bikes, available free of charge throughout your stay, and pedal through the snowy landscape. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy another chance to witness the aurora from the warmth and comfort of your cozy cube. Tonight also includes your second Aurora Portrait Session, providing another opportunity to capture those unforgettable moments.
Day 3: Farewell to the Aurora
Enjoy a leisurely morning at Borealis Basecamp. After breakfast, take in the peaceful surroundings one last time before your 11:00 AM check-out. Our Borealis Basecamp shuttle will provide a comfortable and convenient return to Fairbanks, dropping you off at any major hotel within city limits or at the airport.

Transportation Made Easy:
Our package includes convenient roundtrip transportation from Fairbanks to Borealis Basecamp. We offer pick-up and drop-off services at major hotels within Fairbanks city limits and the Fairbanks International Airport. Please be ready at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time, as the pick-up window begins half an hour prior to the stated time. The return journey to Fairbanks takes approximately one hour. If you have any questions about pick-up locations, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for confirmation.
